Speed Connect what a bunch of Dishonest Crooks

I don't know how Speed Connect expects to be a successful business with such horrible business practices. I cannot believe the amount of unprofessionalism I have had to deal with over the past couple of weeks.  I have called and talked to so many different people, and have left a ton of messages. Apparently, their Billing department doesn't ever call people back.

Anyways, since I am determined to tell everyone I can about my awful experience, and hopefully save anyone from having the misfortune of doing any business with them I have created this blog. I hope people can share their experiences and let people know how crooked this business is. They are bullies and will make you feel powerless, and that is why we need to stick together! I know I am not the only one to have an experience like this one. Here is what happened:

We had Bridgemaxx and didn't have any problems with them.  Then one month (Feb 2013) our bills suddenly increased drastically. I was shocked, and started to investigate.  It turns out Bridgemaxx had been sold to Speed connect. Having had enough, we decided to end our service. We drove to the Idaho Falls office, which I might add is a half an hour drive from where we live.  Not only did that cost us gas, but it also took time out of our busy days.  This was April 15th 2013. We payed our last bill, and turned in our equipment.  I asked the girl behind the counter if we had payed everything and if we were clear.  She assured me that we had payed everything and that we wouldn't hear from speed connect again.

We didn't hear anything after that, until last week. When we received a call from a collections agency saying that we owed $80.  I thought this must be a simple accounting error since we were assured that we were square.  I called the Idaho Falls office and the billing department, neither of which were very helpful. They informed me that the charge was for overages from March, which doesn't make any sense since we payed everything April 15th. The only thing that anyone told me was that they could make that nasty little $80 go away if we signed a contract with Speed Connect.  Is this some sort of scam? Is it normal business practice to create a random charge and then bully people into signing contracts with you?

I am furious that we weren't informed of anything and that we were given over to a collections agency without any warning.  I am extremely pissed off that you may have put our credit score in jeopardy.  I am also extremely pissed that I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone who will fix this problem. I have filled a complaint with the better business bureau, and I am in the process of filling a complaint with the Attorney General (who assures me that Speed connect have violated my rights as a consumer).

I would like that $80 charge to be reversed, I would like an apology for stress that Speed connect has caused me and my husband, and I would like Speed Connect to contact the collections agency and the credit bureau to make sure that this does not effect our credit. So far we haven't heard anything.
